Cedar Point got the point...One day its not enough..

Cedar point is amusement park located on a Lake Erie peninsula in Sandusky, Ohio. Touting itself as the roller coaster capital of the world, Cedar point is number one for amusement park based on Travel channel pooling from their fans. We are Sudrajat Family. Me, my husband, my son Barra, and my daughter Loula. From the beginning since we came and lived in Cleveland, we already put cedar point on our bucket list to do. After waited for the lowest price to come, we finally have an offer from Groupon as low as 50% of for each person. From $65 regular, become $34. We cannot dissipate that opportunity, so we buy ticket and prepare to go. And what do we do next? we read as many as possible information about Cedar Point.

The idea is how to manage your time while your in there, how can you ride all the thrill thing while you with your family all the time, and how to get the food which suitable with your budget, etc.

Prepare for the thrills, look at those faces

First thing first, based on the information that i read, we should make a checklist for it, so i try to fill anything as i could start with:

1. Spend two days at Cedar Point.

Cedar point didn't make a joke by saying One day is not enough. Its logically speaking with soooo many attraction even in a Fast lane you cannot ride all along with family by your side. As per se we cannot spend two days at cedar point. beside from cleveland, cedar point only 2 hour distance and we decided to drive. The park open at 10 am so we prepare to go at 8 am. One thing, come early to the park will give you benefit to not have a long line for the ride, especially for the famous one such as Maverick, Valravn, and Millenium force, but don't worry, Cedar point has 17 Roller coaster to share, just take it slowly and enjoy the day.

2. Spend the night at one of Cedar Point’s lodging options.

When you stay at a Cedar Point hotel, you get early admission BOTH days to the park. Getting into the park an hour earlier than most guests is a huge advantage to riding Millennium Force and Maverick without a long wait. Again, we don't spend night in there, so we just come earliest as we can.

3. Get the Cedar Point Apps

Install the Cedar point application on your phone and as you get there, change your connection to cedar point free WiFi and get the latest news about all the attraction. The information including

Mostly we use it for ride wait times and to view ride height requirements. as for the Funpix, its little bit expensive for us. Yes i would love to have my Rollercoaster photo to laugh at, but if i have to pay $34 more for it..a..a..nope. So we just passed as quickly as possible if we saw our photo at FunPix..its hurt my feeling bow"....:p

One thing about Fast Lane, its worthed when you only come to visit rarely on one time in your life like us. with so many attraction and lane, i bet your very lucky to have that pass, especially when it just you. See, people tend to ride with groups, because you can have story and laugh together, whats the point with being ride alone unless just to test the ride. There's no one would have feeling like you do and its sucks..(tell it to my husband..haha), and that'S when the opportunity came, you can come to fill the empty seat as nobody would have they group separated.

4. Drinks and Food Options

From the moment we arrive, first thing to do is go to the gate and prepare the ticket and just like that, you can enjoy all the ride as long as you can. Since its a hot summer, we prepare the kids with drinks so they don't get dehydration. There is option to have easy and budgety drinks at the park.

- first If you want fountain drinks, buy a souvenir drink bottle. It costs $9.99 online or $14.99 in the park (if you buy three or more, they are $9.99 each on-site). Refills are free for the first day you buy the bottle and 99 cents after that.

- second by buying All Day Drink Wristbands.

its allow your entire group to enjoy fountain soft drinks at most walk up midway food locations all day long. These group exclusive drink wristbands must be purchased for more than or equal to the number of group tickets purchased. If you reserve with your group ticket reservation the cost is $8.00 per person plus tax. So, while we on the line, someone just offer us the wristband, but unfortunately we refuse politely because we already buy the souvenir drink bottle. hmm...cant be greedy on something folks...

Because of our tight budgets, we prepare our meal, so we don't have to spend money on site beside i am to stingy for the overpriced food.( you got it rite?). After spend time in some attraction, we go back to our car and get our lunches, you just have to ask for the gate stamp, so they will recognize you when you got back, but be aware of how many food you will eat since you don't want any incident in the roller coaster rite?. Tips for the lunches, i preferred make something that children will set eyes at the park so they don't get jealous of people passing by while eating such as fried chicken, fries, and cookies.

Start with take a fun picture with Peanut the movie cast..which is loula sort of didn't like it. see her face..its a fear inside...:p

First Attraction was Midway Carousel, is located right in front of you as you passed the main gate. I used it as a chance for my husband to buy the souvenir drinks. since there is no line, its fast to just start the fun.

Prepare to riding Ocean Motion

Ocean Motion makes my experience with this thing more visible. In my country, Indonesia, we have this same attraction at Dunia Fantasi Park. its more bigger than this but its 10 years ago and the last time i remember, its thrilling so much even trembling my knees. hahaha.. yes you can call me coward but it is..i am scared of heights. as my palm begin to cold and sweaty, and my heartbeat pounding, i can see Barra and Loula just have a big smile at their faces and that's the moment i start to looking up to the sky and screaming.......whoaaaaaaaaaaa......hahahahaha... but i enjoy it. this is our moment together as a family in a Boat..i mean in the sky..i mean..boat sky...you name it lah...

4. Pack your things slightly and light as possible

Its more easier to have a small bag or just a bag to put some important things such as, sunblock, wet tissue, hand sanitize, and phone. Since we came early in the morning, so we can park near to the gate, in case we go back and forth for lunch or for change our clothes. Loula is big now so, we don't have to bring the stroller with us and its makes us can moving freely.

5. Start at the Back of the park

after the Ocean Motion, we take the Sky Ride to go to the back of the park. its the best way to get from here to there, and enjoy a great view of Cedar Point rides, landscaping and attractions along the way. not very windy that day and the kids enjoy it so much.

After Sky Ride, we get to the middle of the park, we continue with the thrill of Iron Dragon Roller coaster. This is the first time for Barra to ride a roller coaster, even the tiny one, so i am a little bit worry about him. Previously, we would like to ride together, but then, Loula cannot join because of her high measurement didn't qualified. hhpptt....so only Barra and his dad can enjoy the ride while Loula and I waiting outside.

Next thing we ride the Cedar point and Lake Erie Railroad. Its an authentic steam-powered trains and settle in for a scenic ride near the peninsula below the roller coaster. you can see the Lake Erie at your left and enjoy the wind breeze while listen to the train whistle. Kids enjoy it. One tips, choose the back carriage, otherwise you can feel the black smoke coming from the coal fill it the air.

Just like the mini train Barra used to have...only its in real size. Its Fascinating

We at the back of the park and that's the Main Streak Roller Coster. This year, they close it for good. Mean Streak breaking world records for tallest lift hill and the longest drop on a wooden roller coaster. Mean Streak is the tallest, fastest, and longest wooden coasters in the world. On Friday night, September 16, the opening night of Cedar Point's 20th HalloWeekends, guests can take one final trip along the giant wooden structure. there's special closing ceremony as "last rites" to the ride and march in procession from Frontier Town to the Dead Rides Cemetery near the front of the park.The coaster will lie in repose before burial so guests may see him for the last time. so, Good bye Mean Streak. As we get there they closed it and we cannot ride it hiks.

Next, the Maverick Roller coaster. Maverick is a bit schizophrenic says Arthur Levine as Theme Park expert on his article http://themeparks.about.com/od/coasterridereviews/fr/MaverickCP.htm. With the thrills rate 10. yaikss... with top speed 70 mph its super fast thus my husband lost his glasses. Seemly hidden inside oh the bag, but its gone, and he came after with eyes sore looking for me. ha..and that's when we reach at the next tip which is if you wearing a glasses, wear a eyeglass retainer, it can hold the force while you turn upside down with super high speed.

Next tip for the children while waiting my husband on the line for Maverick. when we get there, the line took 45 minute and its my job to entertain the kids to kill the time. We play "guess where we are" from the map, going take a little walk, go to the bathroom, and play "catch me if you can".

Another tips, ask about Child Swap. Many major amusement park has a child park program to watch for the child while the parent take turn riding the attraction.

Maverick prick

Still in the Frontier Town, for cooling down, we drove this Cadillac replica as Antique cars. Its control by steering and gas but they put rail so you can't bring it anywhere. I think its good for the people who learn to drove a car, just like all this children. hihi..just kidding.

Wanna ride that?..nope...my heart still shaking now from the last ride...bhuahahahaha

Ride Wave Swinger with Barra, he likes it and i enjoy it too. Its like when you ride Ontang Anting at Dunia Fantasi In Indonesia. Same thrill, same feeling only with different view. Loula crying the whole time because agaaaiiinn...she didn't fit the high measurement.

For $6 ice cream and for 4 people, its good and worthed

Next is Cedar Creek Mine ride. Only Barra and his dad ride it. its mine train on the loose. its climb up hills, through a tunnel and over water, finishing up with a signature helix whirlwind as the ride finishes, It comes to old-fashioned thrills just like in the movie. While waiting for the to ride, i take Loula to window shopping at the store to find some gift.

This is the real thrills for Barra. Gemini Roller coaster. He said to me when its down, he just close his eyes, and he feels something on his stomach. his heart falling down..we laugh continuously btw, he nail it. While waiting for them, Loula start her journey to Snoopy land.

After all the high measurement, finally Loula meet her ride.This is Snoopy Bounce. One thing i notice, she didn't like the bouncy thing, or she used to observe the bouncy and decide it later whether to enjoy it or no. For this time she just watch all the kids round and round and bounce, after a while we just find another ride. hmmm..

Red Baron in camp snoopy can up and down and makes kids pretend to chase one another.

This little watermelon seeds was asking me politely if i were on the line..awwww.. its so sweet and reminder for me, if i teach my child how to be polite, its become habit to them to practice with other people. Nice job parent
